Tell Me Something Tuesday is back with a new host! Heidi @ Rainy Day Ramblings is now in charge of the weekly meme. You can find all the details on her page. Hope you all decide to join!

This weeks question: Who are some of your favorite romantic couples?

Okay, I’m not very good at this but I’ll do my best.

—————————————————————

Henry DeTamble & Clare Abshire from The Time Traveler’s Wife. This is my most favorite book ever. And I love Henry & Clare immensely! There’s a personal reason why this book and this couple’s relationship touched me so deeply, but I keep that close to my heart. Plus, I love time travel.

A dazzling novel in the most untraditional fashion, this is the remarkable story of Henry DeTamble, a dashing, adventuresome librarian who travels involuntarily through time, and Clare Abshire, an artist whose life takes a natural sequential course. Henry and Clare’s passionate love affair endures across a sea of time and captures the two lovers in an impossibly romantic trap, and it is Audrey Niffenegger’s cinematic storytelling that makes the novel’s unconventional chronology so vibrantly triumphant.

Jamie Fraser & Claire Randall from Outlander. Sure, I’ve only read the first book in this series, but I freaking love these two! Jaime is all kinds of yum. Again, it’s time travel.

The year is 1945. Claire Randall, a former combat nurse, is back from the war and reunited with her husband on a second honeymoon–when she walks through a standing stone in one of the ancient stone circles that dot the British Isles. Suddenly she is a Sassenach–an “outlander”–in a Scotland torn by war and raiding Highland clans in the year of Our Lord…1743.

Hurled back in time by forces she cannot understand, Claire is catapulted into intrigues and dangers that may threaten her life…and shatter her heart. For here she meets James Fraser, a gallant young Scots warrior, and becomes a woman torn between fidelity and desire…and between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.

—————————————————————-

Atticus O’Sullivan & Me from Hounded. Haha – okay, this is wishful thinking, but I love us as a couple in my imagination. Kevin Hearne couldn’t have wrote a more perfect guy for me. 😀

Atticus O’Sullivan, last of the Druids, lives peacefully in Arizona, running an occult bookshop and shape-shifting in his spare time to hunt with his Irish wolfhound. His neighbors and customers think that this handsome, tattooed Irish dude is about twenty-one years old—when in actuality, he’s twenty-one centuries old. Not to mention: He draws his power from the earth, possesses a sharp wit, and wields an even sharper magical sword known as Fragarach, the Answerer.

Unfortunately, a very angry Celtic god wants that sword, and he’s hounded Atticus for centuries. Now the determined deity has tracked him down, and Atticus will need all his power—plus the help of a seductive goddess of death, his vampire and werewolf team of attorneys, a sexy bartender possessed by a Hindu witch, and some good old-fashioned luck of the Irish—to kick some Celtic arse and deliver himself from evil.

There are a lot of couples I love, but those are the ones that immediately come to mind when I think of favorites.

  1. I must be one of the last people on earth who hasn’t read Outlander! I think I was intimidated by the length of it (hehe). I have Atticus all ready to go (I have all of the books, now Hearne just has to STOP WRITING THEM until I get to them).

Hey, did you know who played Henry in the film version of The Time Traveler’s Wife? Eric Bana! *snort*

Don’t be intimidated by Outlander. You’ll want more once you’re done… especially of Jamie. Haha – I am slacking on my Atticus reads. I miss him.

I swear I almost made a comment in my post about The Bana. 😀

I LOVE The Outlander. It was the first romance book I ever read some 20 years ago. I have been hooked. Diana writes a great series.
