If life is like a box of chocolates, Cat Butler has tasted them all—and decided on none. It's no wonder she can't keep a job, even though her mother's health depends on it. Just when she finds herself up a creek without a paddle—again—a benevolent friend throws her a lifeline. In the form of a job at, of all places, a phone sex hotline. Not exactly what she had in mind, but if it pays the bills for her mom's expensive nursing home, what's the harm?

Successful entrepreneur Flynn McGrady knows a thing or two about responsibility. So when his mother has a stroke, he knows the right thing to do is relocate to Atlanta to be near her while she recovers. He's got a plan for everything—except for feisty Cat, who finally gets his mama to talk again. Talk dirty, that is, and he's not pleased. Cat is gorgeous and sassy to boot…too bad she's not the type to settle down.

Cat and Flynn may have bigger fish to fry, but the sparks between them are hotter than hell. And when they finally give in to temptation, the results are explosive. Can a girl who follows her heart and a guy who follows his head find their way to forever?

Even though Talk This Way is a prequel, I read it last. I can be a rebel! I’m glad I did though. I already knew how Cat’s life turned out by reading the other books first, but I liked going back to see how it all started.

This book doesn’t actually take place in Plum Orchard, it’s more of the set-up before Call Girls move there. The story focuses on Cat and Flynn’s budding relationship, but we get to see how she ends up working for the company. I liked getting a look at Call Girls before it moved to PO, especially since we actually get to meet Landon.

It was fun getting to know Cat and Flynn better. I didn’t realize Cat was so feisty! That was a nice surprise. Flynn is pretty much only mentioned in passing throughout the series, so I was happy to finally meet the mystery man. I definitely enjoyed these two together, even if it does go by somewhat quickly.

I also think reading this book last was more emotional when it came to the aspect of Landon. I don’t know if it would’ve had quite the impact on me if I hadn’t already connected with what he did and the people he touched in the rest of the series. Not going to lie, I had to stop reading a couple times because I was crying so much.

Talk This Way is the type of prequel novella that can easily be read anytime. If you read it first, just keep in mind that it is only a small glimpse into what’s to come. No matter what, though, read the series!

P.S. This ebook is free!

Well, Landon and what happens to him is pretty much the catalyst to to whole series. I loved seeing him, but it broke my heart too.

  1. Ok I totally picked up Talk Dirty to Me on your recommendation and I’m loving it so far! I’ve got to read this now that I know Landon makes an appearance. I really want to meet the man who makes all of this possible (though I’m afraid I’m probably going to cry too). Lovely review!

I’m a rebel too when it comes to these prequels 3:), but most of the authors I read so far publish prequels after the 1st book in series, so it’s not all my fault, lol. Glad you liked this one too Christy, sounds good and it’s free-yayy!

  3. I’ve heard a lot lot of really positive things about this author so I’m definitely going to have to give this series a try. I like to mix a prequel novella in the middle of the series so I’m already connected with the characters and it sounds like this may be a good thing to do with this one as well.

I have this on my kindle! I haven’t read any of the books but I heard such good things about them that I grabbed this when I saw it was free. I’m not going to be a rebel, not this time anyway. I’ll read this first then move on to the other books.
