SundayPost

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimba Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

I kept to my word and only read review books this week. On the down side, I only read two. So that brings me to a total of three so far for the Clean Sweep ARC Challenge. There is still a week left, so I think I’ll read 2 or 3 more. I’m not behind on ARCs, I just wanted to be more ahead than I am. No biggie.

The school year is winding down and I have conflicting feelings. I’m happy that it’s pretty much summer now, but then it means my son will be a senior in high school. I want these last two weeks to go by verrrrry slow.

And my son is still a terrible driver. He almost caused a wreck last week and I saw my life flash before my eyes – all the books I still have on my TBR that I wouldn’t get to read. It was traumatizing.

On the Blog

  • Easy by Tammara Webber – Review. So glad I finally read this!
  • Lifers by Jane Harvey-Berrick – Review. Enjoyed this a lot.

Books Read

The Dark World by Cara Lynn Shultz

Take My Breath Away by Christie Ridgway

I love Jeyn Roberts and can’t wait to read this!

These are all free except See You in Hell ($0.99), Pushing the Limits ($0.31) and of course Sixth Grave. I’ve already read PtL, but didn’t have a digital copy so went ahead and grabbed it.

Hope you have a great week!

  1. Glad you finally got to read Easy. I have read that several times now I just loved it so much.
I totally get that you would think about all the books that you have to read when your life flashed before your eyes, I would too. Lets hope his driving improves and soon by the sounds of it.
Hope you have a wonderful week.

I love Rammstein !!! A few years ago, they gave a concert in Paris on my birthday and I passed in front of the concert hall and thought I had to go catch a train instead of attending and almost cried in the street πŸ™‚ You made me laugh with your TBR pile flash ! Have a great week and don’t. get. in. his. car !

I might’ve cried a little too when they FINALLY came back to the US, but I couldn’t go to their concert because I was having my kidney removed. *sigh*

  3. It’s funny what you said about all the tbrs you might never get to read. Usually I save the books in my fave series or books I really want to read until last, then tackle the ones I think I might like less. Now I’m thinking read the ones you want to read the most coz who knows what tomorrow might bring! Cheerful huh!

  4. I’m such a freak when it comes to ARCs that I always read them like months in advance and then I need to wait to publish my review. But yeah. I’m really hope you’ll manage to read at least 3 more books for the challenge. You’ve got great books and I need to grab PTL even though I have it. But yeah :))

I don’t like reading them so far in advance, it feels weird. I try to wait about one month away, then I can write the review and schedule it. I get anxious when there is more than that. lol

  5. I remember loving Easy, and I definitely would like to read it again. I hope your son gets better with driving – I guess it just acquires practice. In Finland we have to turn 18 until we can get a drivers license and it’s crazy expensive (like over 2000 dollars). I lived in US when I was 16 and thought I should maybe get a license there since it would have been cheaper to just transfer the info to Finland, but once my boyfriend tried to teach me and I almost drove with his brand new car to the garage wall, he told me he does not think I should consider driving πŸ˜€ I kind of knew it all along though – I am way too nervous to drive πŸ˜€

Whoa! That’s a lot for a license. I wish I would’ve put him off until he was 18, but I didn’t expect him to be so bad. lol.

  6. Bea

Your comment about all the TBR books you wouldn’t get to read made me chuckle. He’ll get there, he just needs time and practice.

I actually got lots read last week and almost all for the ARC challenge so I’m feeling pretty pleased with my progress overall. And, three ARCS read is 3 more than you had, so you go!

    Enjoy your three day weekend!

lol – yeah, well, I wish he could get all that practice without me or you know, around other people.

Yup, that is true. I like having a buffer with my ARCs so I have the freedom for non-review book.

      You too, Bea!

I’m surprised you haven’t read Easy already. Dude, I know … he still has his permit so I have to be in the car with him. I can’t even imagine how he’ll be without me in the car.

      I will!!

  7. so much to comment on…ok sorry if this is all over the place.

    1) I just read see you in hell last night. I really enjoyed it! I hope you like that and…
    2) Fall for you. Super cute. I have read through book 5 in that series. Lots of high school fun with jane austen.
    3) Your son is going to be a senior in high school in the fall? That must feel good, and scary. College is right around the corner…eep!
    4) I have not read easy yet either. I’m off to check out your review. Maybe it will inspire me.

    5) I am more than a little hesitant to admit this bc it may or may not make me sound like a loser…but I have been mia from commenting around the blogosphere for the past 1 1/2 weeks or so because I have been out of town and I really missed you and Kimba. lol

    So hi! πŸ™‚

lol – I do question your standards if you find yourself missing me. πŸ˜€ I that Jane Austen series on your blog, and hey, the first book was free, so why not. Ohhh you definitely need to read Easy, Michelle!

Dude, I can’t believe how badly he sucks at driving. He must get that from his dad, because I’m a kick ass driver. lol

  8. I’m only reading review books at the moment, and a great variety, from historic, romance, erotic to sci fi . It’s ok though, but it was nice to read some from my ‘really want to read pile’ on my vacation.
Rammstein are legend in Germany πŸ™‚
Have a great week and Happy Reading.

  9. When I worked for a Romanian family they had their daughter come over to live with them and she wanted me to teach her to drive. So I taught her in my car but the only place I’d let her drive was the mall. She could drive the circle around the mall and practice parking but I wouldn’t let her drive outside that area. It was so nerve wracking! I’m not looking forward to my kids growing up and driving. Yikes!
Looks like you got a lot of good books for almost nothing!

LOL – Well, lets just hope your kids will be better at it. I wish I could just have him drive around the mall parking lot, but he’s supposed to have so many hours of certain things. Shhh… I’m secretly hoping he’ll fail the driving test.

*snort* I don’t know about that. I hope so though. You should totally read that series, it is so much fun!

  10. Pushing The Limits is definitely one of those books that you need to own, lol. The Shadow Prince sounds interesting, too, and I’ve seen it around a lot lately!

I’m currently learning to drive and I don’t think it’s a fun experience for my parents. I’m not the best driver, either. I hope you enjoy all of your books πŸ™‚
