SundayPost

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump the past week. I don’t like to DNF books because it’s hard for me to not follow through on stuff. But the last 2 books I read have been a struggle to get through, so I just feel blah about reading. I’m pretty sure the next two books coming up will be much better, though. Hopefully.

This week (10th – 16th) I will be the hostess for the Fiery Hot Reads for Icy Cold Nights. I’ll have some great authors on the blog with some pretty sweet giveaways. Some of the authors include: Jodi Meadows, Katie McGarry, Cecy Robson, and Victoria Scott. Hope you’ll stop by.

Last week on the blog

  • Released Souls by Karice Bolton – Excerpt & Giveaway. Win a paperback copy of any book in the Witch Avenue series & $10 gift card. Plus download the 1st book for free.
  • Manipulation by Jolene Perry – Review & Giveaway. I’m loving this series! You can win a copy.
  • Nobody But Us by Kristin Halbrook – Guest Post & Giveaway. Win a sway pack & Starbucks gift card.
  • Fire & Ice Hop – There were new stops added everyday this week. Lots of great giveaways.

  • Dark Triumph by Robin LaFevers – For review. I’m dying to get to this one! I’m tempted to bump it up.
  • Sins & Needles by Karina Halle – Purchased this after reading Barbara’s review of it @ Basia’ Bookshelf. It sounds really good. I also don’t want her hunting me down.

When I was younger, I never DNF’ed a book but always made myself read it. The older I get, the more willing I am to DNF and move on. I don’t enjoy it but there’s not enough time to waste on a book that isn’t working. I hope the next ones you read will be better.

It’s rare that I actually do DNF, but sometimes I hold out hope that the book will suddenly surprise me and get good. lol

  2. I never DNF books…I would like to sometimes, but I just can’t. If I don’t finish books then they bother me until I do. Yay for Dark Triumph though! I have it is as well and I started it, but I wanted to finish my other books first so I could concentrate on it without other distractions.
    I hope you enjoy them!

  3. I never have a problem with DNF a book. I mean I do try to give every book the benefit of the doubt and will do my best to @ least get to 50pgs. I easily become bored and have soo many book to read that I don’t have time to read books that don’t hold my attention. Enjoy Sins & Needles, I purchased it, but haven’t had a chance to read it yet. Have a great week NO SUN Post for me this week.

  4. I went out and bought Sins and Needles, too! Seemed like everyone was talking about it and I know Halle is a favorite author by a lot of our “friends” so it kind of was a no-brainer.

I feel like I’m in a slump, too! And I don’t DNF (yet) – I still need closure and I usually hold out and see if the book redeems itself. But I’m like Jen above, I pick out books I think I’ll like ๐Ÿ™‚
