SundayPost

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimba Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Another week, another tragedy. Shit is getting old, man. My heart goes out to those who lost loved ones in the San Bernardino shooting.

I didn’t have a whole lot of time to read this week, but at least I’m enjoying what I am reading. I’m working my way through Ashely Bell, which is fairly long.

I also bought the Tweak Me 2 theme during Ashley’s Black Friday sale, but I’ll wait to install it until the blog is on a break in a couple weeks. I’m looking forward to seeing all the cool upgrades.

I can’t believe Christmas is fast approaching. I haven’t done any shopping, but I’ve been leaning towards buying my son an Apple watch. Do any of you have one, and do you like it?

On the Blog

  • Misconduct by Penelope Douglas (review) – Lordy, did I ever love the crap outta this.
  • Dirty Deeds by Megan Erickson (review) – Sassy female mechanic and a posh Brit, loved it!

Books Read

Ashley Bell by Dean Koontz – 70% so far

El Deafo by Cece Bell

Books Acquired

For Review:

Nothing!

Purchased:

Ugh. There were, and still are a ton of ebook sales. These are just a few I grabbed that had price drops, but you’ll have to double-check whether they’re still cheap. Except El Deafo, that’s a graphic novel I technically bought for my son for his sign language class. It’s a really good book.

What I’m Listening To

R.I.P. Scott Weiland

Have a great week!

goodbye

  1. I am currently listening to Misconduct and its good so far. I really like the whole parent and teacher romance….I don’t get to read those too often. I love the Teak Me 2 theme…I am curious to see what your new design will be.

  2. Hahaha that gif. I didn’t get anything for review either lol I’m glad to know you’re enjoying Ashley Bell. I was going to request it but then backed out since I already have enough arcs as it is *sighs* The struggle is real. I can’t wait to see what new changes will happen on your blog!

  3. I’m not familiar with the Apple watches, but they look nice. And I haven’t done any shopping. Nada. I need to get my butt in gear. Nice pick ups in the ebooks, I’ve been avoiding clicking on any but who knows how long that will last? πŸ™‚

    I liked Velvet revolver… πŸ™

I have an Apple watch, and I love it! I think getting or not getting one for your son depends a little bit on his age. The Apple watch is a bit more fragile than a normal watch, and I take mine off if I do dishes by hand – even if it’s supposed to work with a little bit of water. I enjoy that there are so many things connected between my phone and my watch, if I listen to an audiobook while on the bus, I can pause the book with my watch – without getting my phone out of my bag. And I really like the step-counter as well as the fact that the watch can count my heartbeats πŸ˜€
I hope yo’ll enjoy your new books, Christy, and that you’ll get in the mood to get ready for Christmas. I don’t feel like we’re close to Christmas at all – and I haven’t bought a single Christmas present.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

He’s 18, so old enough to take care of it. Hopefully. I initially didn’t realize it had to be close to the phone for some stuff to work, like calls and messaging. He doesn’t carry his phone when he’s running, and I was hoping the watch would be a good alternate so he had something in case of emergency, but guess not. It does sound kind of cool though.

He could definitely go on his runs without the phone, the watch and the phone would ‘catch up’ afterwards. But he would need to have them closer together in order to actually switch music, and to check mail. There is no wifi on the watch, it transfers data with the phone via bluetooth.
And yes, 18 is probably mature enough to take good care of a watch like that.

Congratulations on purchasing Tweak Me v2. It was seriously one of the best blogging-related decisions I ever made. I can’t wait to see what you come up with when you install it! Plan to spend quite a bit of time tweaking it for weeks after you install. It’s so easy to make changes until you get exactly the look you want. Enjoy!

  6. Oh, an apple watch – lucky boy! I’m keen for a new iPhone but not sure that’s going to happen any time soon. At least your shopping should go more quickly if you know what you want! πŸ™‚

That’s good to hear you’re enjoying what you’re reading. I still have Tweak me Theme V1, I did consider buying the version 2, but so far I don’t really need the upgrades, so I stick with this one for now. I am looking forward to hear how you like V2 and what your blog will look like once you installed it. You got some good looking books this week! I hope you’ll enjoy them. Have a great week!

  8. It’s sad that shootings have become the norm in the US these days. Things seriously need to change.
Anyways, I’m truly excited to see Nameless on your book haul. Hope you’ll enjoy it, Christy! πŸ™‚
Happy reading and have a lovely weekend!

I agree, I feel for the victims and their families but wish that something would be done so these tragedies are stopped more often then not before they happen.

  9. I have an Apple watch and I love it. I bought the sport watch. It’s really nice looking, and I love that you can change the straps.

The mass shooting was horrible. People are so crazy, that it makes you not want to go anywhere. Especially this time of year. Sadly, it looks as if these incidents are the new norm. I don’t know what can be done about them. That’s the scary part.

  10. I hear you, Christy. I’m worried that America is one mass shooting away from desensitizing the world. Nowadays, it seems like a natural occurrence in your country. And it makes me sad and angry when the narrative continues to be the protection of your Second Amendment vs. saving your people.

    Anyway.

I hope your week gets better.

…I want an Apple watch. Hint. Hint.

  11. I have a copy of Made You Up, I need to read it. Yes, another shooting, so tired of the violence. My husband has an Apple watch and he loves it. I haven’t really played around with it, so I don’t have an opinion. I am sure your son would like it. Anyway, let’s hope this is a better week.

  12. Nameless looks badass. I got all my shopping done. Yay me. πŸ˜€

My friend’s daughter works at the place that got shot-up. She wasn’t there at the time thank goodness. My mom was trying to get a job there.

I live close. The whole week security and cops have been abundant at high populated areas like malls and movie theaters. It’s crazy.
