Sunday Post #143 (9/20/15) – Cotton Candy & Corn Dogs

SundayPost

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimba Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

I love county fair season, but ours is already coming to a close. The animals, the food, the entertainment … ♥! It goes by too quick.

Also, I really want to change the name of the blog. I never meant for it to become an actual blog when I hastily slapped the name on in the very beginning. I need to brainstorm.

On the Blog

Books Read

Murder of Crows by Anne Bishop

Untouchable by Ava Marsh

Cocky Bastard by Penelope Ward

Already read and loved it!

What I’m Watching

This is such an awesome video! My son is currently taking his 2nd semester of ASL, but I’ve been kind of learning on my own, so I only pick up a little bit of their signs.

And I’m loving The 5th Wave trailer!

Have a great week!

  1. Change your blog name?!?! I’m surprised, really. I thought about it b/c mine doesn’t relate to what I read at all but then I realized after as long as we’ve been blogging, people might recognize us. Your domain is pretty fantastic, too. I personally hate when peep’s domains don’t match their blog name, it confuses the crap out of me and I have a hard time finding them.

Funnel cakes or elephant ears… that is the more important question!

  2. Good Luck with the name change, mine is very long but it would be a lot to change it so when I post things I use Because Reading short for Because Reading is better than real life. 🙂
I love county fairs however I have never been to one since they don’t have them by us. They seem like so much fun.

Have a great week, Christy! Happy Reading!

  3. I had to change my blog name too years ago. I picked one on the spur of the moment when setting up on blogspot and it was betweenthelinesisanendlessstory! So was that title! It’s a rough one deciding to change though as everyone associates you with that name which is why I went for something fairly similar.

I love the idea of country fairs US style, I love reading about them or when I see them on tv shows, they look like so much fun.

  4. I’m coeliac (celiac) so carnival food is hugely problematic for me. We went to a big ‘show’ (or exhibition) recently and fortunately there were some gluten-free stalls but none offering any of the usual stuff you mention.

(Though I think cotton candy – which we call fairy floss – is gluten-free anyway!)

Our fair season just started recently. I love it.

I like your blog name. Are you thinking of changing the focus of your blog? I like that it’s not too specific or limiting so it gives you more leeway as far genres go.

  6. I want to change my blog’s name too. I’m tired of saying it outloud to people and having them look like I’ve grown a second head or something. And then as soon as I say “it’s Latin” I get even worse looks. I’m brainstorming too and taking my time…because a name change means a blog layout change. *sigh*

I love the fair! I’ll have to see when ours is in town, I miss the atmosphere. It’s really small here, so there are no animals or anything like that and it’s looked the exact same since I was a kid.

  7. WE didn’t make it to the fair, we talked about it, but we were so darn busy. Hopefully next year. Hmm what are you going to change the name of the blog to? Do you want me to help you name it…. I am sure I can think of some fab names. I grabbed Imposter Queen as well, since I have read everything of Fine’s to date!

Blog names are tricky. I kinda like mine even though it was a bit of a spur of the moment decision as well and now that it’s much more than review Lola’s Ramblings would fit better as blog title, but ah wel that’s my discussion feature now.
I hope you’ll enjoy your new books and have a great week!
