IT'S NOT EASY BEING RIGHT
Vanessa Campbell is a CPA by day and a perfectionist by night. She's fit, successful...and decidedly lonely. She can't stop thinking about the youngest McCauley brother, Cameron. He's just like her: smart, attractive, and usually right-except when dealing with her.
...BUT SOMEONE'S GOT TO DO IT
Cameron McCauley likes Vanessa a little too well. She's a blond goddess with a razor-sharp tongue. She hates to be wrong, just like him. But she can hold a grudge and is stubborn to a fault-also like him.
A past misunderstanding has them rubbing each other the wrong way. Cam is dying to shake Vanessa up-get her to let loose. But if he succeeds, can his heart handle it?
Ahh, Ruining Mr. Perfect is another fun and sexy installment in The McCauley Brothers series.
It has been about a year since the ladies moved next door to Mike. Maddie and Abby have found love with Flynn and Brody, and now it’s time for Cameron to finally make his move on Vanessa.
I knew Vanessa would be my favorite of the three women when we met her in the first book. She has the type of blunt, assertive personality I love, and she talks the most smack to everyone. Plus, she’s a CPA – hot! No, I’m not joking. I think I’ll love Del more when I read her book, but Vanessa is definitely my favorite out of the original three.
Cam’s brothers always harp on him and give him a hard time, which I get a kick out of. So it was interesting getting his perspective. I do like Cam, I really do, but I agree with his family about him being overly sensitive. The way he reacted to certain situations was a bit melodramatic and made me want to smack him. View Spoiler » He kept wanting Vanessa to admit she was wrong about something, and I don’t think she was. She had a private conversation (woman-to-woman) with his mom. They discussed things that I’m sure the mom wouldn’t want to discuss with Cam, but he throws a hissy fit because Vanessa ‘went behind his back’ and didn’t tell him every detail. He came across as a jealous little boy. Like he has to be included in anything she and his mom talk about because she’s his mommy. But turns it around like it’s about her not trusting him. Seriously, give me a break. « Hide Spoiler Despite a couple of annoyances, Cam is a good guy. His brothers might want to be careful about mocking him too much in front of Vanessa, though, because she’ll probably put them in their place real quick.
The romance was nicely done. Even though Cam irritated me at times, I loved these two together. And yes, it gets pretty damn hot. I had a feeling it was going to go in the direction it did (no, I won’t tell), and I’m really happy about it.
Of course, the entire gang is very much involved in this book. There is a storyline that involves the McCauley parents, and I liked how it overlapped with Vanessa and Cam. I love how much family and friends are integrated into each book.
So yes, I quite enjoyed Ruining Mr. Perfect. The entire series is a lot of fun, and I am especially looking forward to the next book, What to Do with a Bad Boy.
