Meet the furry big brother that the Wird sisters never had…

Bren is a cocky, brash hound of a werewolf who loathes the idea of belonging to Aric’s pack—much less finding a mate. But Bren’s hotheaded behavior lands him in the doghouse when he defies Aric’s authority in front of his pack, bringing up a sore subject that’s bound to make the Alpha wolf’s blood boil…

Luckily for him, no one can stay mad at Bren and his wild charm for long. And when some frightening ghosts launch a hostile paranormal takeover, Bren will team up with Celia Wird to take down the evil ghouls before they hurt someone they both love…

I’ve been dying to get in Bren’s head (okay, and his pants) since I met him in Sealed with a Curse, so to say I was excited for this novella is an understatement. I can’t get enough of the guy! A Cursed Moon isn’t just a filler in order to get to know Bren better, it’s also a pretty significant installment to the series.

A Cursed Moon picks up not too long after A Cursed Embrace, and Cecy did a great job with it. There is an actual storyline that bridges the second and third book, all while getting to know more of Bren and his background. Aric has asked Bren to be part of his pack, so we get to see how he deals with Aric and the rest of the wolves, which is quite entertaining. He definitely likes to push their buttons. I also really liked getting his perspective of Celia and seeing them fight together. I think they make a great team.

Bren has earned a high ranking as one of my favorite male characters. Seriously, he’s easily top three. He can be such an inappropriate smartass, but that’s part of his charm. He even keeps his sense of humor during dire situations. Despite being a lone wolf, he is loyal to and deeply loves Danny, Celia and her sisters. And we see that love put to the test in this novella.

I don’t want to say too much about what transpires in A Cursed Moon, so just read this! Read it, read it, read it! If you’ve read the first two books in The Weird Girls series, then you have to read A Cursed Moon! Something big happens that you should know about before reading A Cursed Destiny. Besides, who wouldn’t want more Bren!

  1. Oh, Christy, I’m so glad you had fun with Bren. One of my favorite scenes is the one that leads him to receive his little love note from Aric. I originally wrote this novella in 2010–along with Taran’s and a second one told from Bren’s perspective. At the time, I wasn’t sure if / when I’d ever be published so I’m so honored to have his story released. Thank you, again, for the feature! ~ Cecy

Well, I’m glad it was published. Haha – oh man, yeah, as much as I love Bren, it was funny seeing him knocked down a level. Keep ’em coming, Cecy!
