Darrow would have lived in peace, but his enemies brought him war. The Gold overlords demanded his obedience, hanged his wife, and enslaved his people. But Darrow is determined to fight back. Risking everything to transform himself and breach Gold society, Darrow has battled to survive the cutthroat rivalries that breed Society’s mightiest warriors, climbed the ranks, and waited patiently to unleash the revolution that will tear the hierarchy apart from within.
Finally, the time has come.
But devotion to honor and hunger for vengeance run deep on both sides. Darrow and his comrades-in-arms face powerful enemies without scruple or mercy. Among them are some Darrow once considered friends. To win, Darrow will need to inspire those shackled in darkness to break their chains, unmake the world their cruel masters have built, and claim a destiny too long denied—and too glorious to surrender.
This was killer, but I survived! I can’t believe it’s over, though.
I tried so hard to take my time and make the book last, but it’s impossible! No matter how hard I tried. I got completely sucked into the first two books, and I should’ve known better than to think it would be any different with Morning Star.
Morning Star is an unbelievably awesome finale to the Red Rising Trilogy. The characters have been through hell and back. A few times, actually. Oh, but was it ever glorious!
It’s crazy thinking about Darrow’s journey from the very beginning to end, all that he endured and persevered through. He truly is an outstanding character. Hell, I love all these characters so damn much. There’s such depth to them, and a complexity that is so beautifully done. The fabulous wit and banter is the delicious icing on the cake!
This book was so exciting and intense. I was constantly on edge, completely devouring each word. It isn’t just action and fighting, it’s also the strategizing and big moves, trying to outsmart the enemy that kept me on my toes. It’s brutal and heartbreaking at times, but it is brilliant!
Morning Star was everything I could have hoped for and more. So much more. This is without a doubt one of my top favorite series, so I’m extremely happy there will be a spin-off. Bring it on, Brown, I’m ready!
