top reads 2016

I always do a midyear post sharing my top reads, and there are already plenty to choose from this year. Hopefully the rest of the year brings even more awesome reads! There are actually a couple other books that should be on here, but I decided to leave them off for now.

Okay, okay … I really left them off because I’m feeling the three groups of three, and adding them would’ve thrown off the vibe. Shut up, I know I’m weird. 😛

Moving on. I was surprised to see some of these books on my ‘read in 2016’ list. It seems like it was a lot longer than 5-6 months since I read them.

So here they are …

he will be my ruinmarked in fleshask me how i got here

He Will Be My Ruin – My favorite Tucker book to date.
Marked in Flesh – The series gets better and better!
Ask Me How I Got Here – This is so beautifully written. I connected with Addie so much. Everyone experiences depression and works through stuff in their own way, and it bums me out when I see people judging her during the most difficult time in her life.

Morning Star – Wowza! What a fantastic finale!
The Fireman – What an amazing book hangover this gave me.
The City of Mirrors – Absolutely brilliant!

With Malice – I was pleasantly surprised at how good this was.
It Ends With Us – All I’m saying is … wow!
And I Darken – Hell yeah! This was so freaking good!

That’s all!

Have you read any of these?

  1. I haven’t read any of them but I want to read most of them. The K.A. Tucker one especially is on my list because I’ve been wanting to read her forever and I’m especially intrigued by this more mystery book. With Malice also looks really good and I’m curious about Ask Me How I Got Here. Looks like you’ve been doing some great reading!

  2. Okay, so He Will Be My Ruin was on my TBR and I just purchased the ebook from Amazon because they were having a sale. I am so happy to see it on this list! I also loved With Malice. I thought the ending was a bit rushed, but other than that, it was a great mystery. Awesome list.

I mean to read He Will Be My Ruin by KA Tucker, to see if a mystery can work for my besides Sherlock Homes. I Will Darken sounds interesting, too.

Once you read The Passage, you’ll HAVE to read the rest of them. You can’t read that trilogy out of order.

  4. I just added Ask me How I got Here Christy, it sounds so lovely and poignant. I’m actually reading And I Darken now and holy shit, it’s so fierce. When she stormed into the room as a child and shouted I KILL INFIDELS, I was hooked. Wonderful list! Going to check a few of these out <3

I haven’t read any of these, but I like the idea of a midyear top reads so far list. I remember seeing a few of your reviews for some of these. I own the first book in that Anne Bischop series, but haven’t read it yet. I am curious about He Will Be My Ruin, but not yet sure if I will actually pick it up.
