Protect your family. At all costs.

It’d take the impossible to hurt Connor Cobalt, even for a moment.

Protect your family. At all costs.

At twenty-six, his narcissistic tendencies have made room for the people he loves.

Protect your family. At all costs.

And he loves Rose. But when his love is threatened, when his greatest dreams with her are compromised — what is the cost then?

Protect your family. At all costs.

Love will guide his choices.
For the first time in his life.

I used Fuel the Fire as a reward, so I had to wait a little over two weeks to read it. Do you realize how difficult that was?! I pride myself on my self-control, but damn, that was torture. Oh, but was it ever worth it!

This is seriously one of my favorite series. I don’t care if this is technically the Calloway Sisters, I consider them all part of the Addicted series. And they should be read in order as such. It freaks me the hell out when I see people skipping and reading one set without the other. It seriously makes my eye twitch! All of these are so tightly intertwined and play off each other that you won’t have the full picture and miss so much development if you skip books.

Anyway …

Rose and Connor have the best swoon-worthy antagonistic relationship! Even though it may be hard for outsiders to see the love they have for each other, we know how deep it runs. They are truly a team, loyal and true. It made me giddy seeing them at this stage in their life, and even melted my heart a couple times View Spoiler ».

I can’t believe how far they have come. Not just Rose and Connor, but the entire group. Even after all their years together, each dynamic continues to shift and strengthen. Connor and Ryke – I absolutely loved the growth between these two! It isn’t just the romantic couples that make this series great, it’s the friendships and family that make it stand out and genuinely awesome. The depth of these characters is outstanding.

There are two very important issues/situations that occur in this book, but I’m not going to say what they are because of spoilers. However, I will say that I was ecstatic about both. One is something that is a long time coming and needed to be dealt with in a bad way. The second is something that was brought up in Addicted After All, and I am absolutely thrilled with the way the authors dealt with the topic. Actually, a lot goes on, but KBRitchie does a fantastic job weaving it all together.

It’s funny, because I always hope for a high page count with these books, yet no matter how high it is, it isn’t enough. It’ll never be enough! Seriously though, Fuel the Fire is everything I could’ve hoped for.

  1. This series is on my list to start this year Christy. I can’t take being out of the loop any longer! And antagonistic relationships are my very favorite, so I know I’m going to love these two. Thanks for posting the reading order at the bottom as well, it’s good to know because sometimes I inadvertently skip around when there are a more than a few books in a series:)

  2. I started this one, but had to put it down because of all the other books I have to read but I was enjoying everything about it except for the length. I struggle with lengthy contemporary books. I’m glad you enjoyed it so much, Christy. I can’t wait to get back to it.

The progress from the first book is absolutely wonderful. Major growth with all the characters. I hope you continue soon.

  3. I’m surprised that you managed to wait two full weeks to read this one. That’s some serious self control Christy! I don’t know how you did it! I’m so happy you enjoyed this one and YES Krista and Becca dealt with the two serious topics wonderfully. I was waving my KBRITCHIE flag reading this one. They are both superheroes in their own right.

Oh really? I know the first 7 are out now, but they’re working on this one. Then there will only be one more book to go in the series.

Wow this whole series sounds excellent! That’s a good idea to save a book to read as a reward. There are so many books I want to read, but don’t have the time. I love when romantic interests have a swoon-worthy antagonistic relationship. It makes the anticipation and chemistry between them so much more intense. I love characters with depth, and character growth. You know a book is great when no matter how long it is, it’s not enough! Wonderful Review Christy 🙂
