Charade by Cambria Hebert – Fun Post & G!veaway
on May 18th, 2012Today we’re celebrating the release of Charade by Cambria Hebert – it’s the second book in the Heven and Hell series. Last month I participated in the read-a-long for Masquerade, the 1st book, and it was so much fun. So I’m excited to be part of this tour, especially on release day. I’m going to give a little blurb about Masquerade, in case you’re not familiar with it, and then Cambria will take over the rest, including a sweet giveaway!
About Masquerade:

Before. Everything was so much better Before. I wasn’t haunted by nightmares, my place at school was secure and my face was flawless. Now, I’m a freak and everything has changed. The worst part is that I can’t remember the night I was sentenced to the shadows. The memory has been stolen from me and I just can’t shake the feeling that someone, something is out there -watching.
Just when I think I have my life handled, Sam, with his intimidating golden stare and shiver inducing voice, makes me realize that I don’t know anything. He makes me see that my scars don’t matter. That they never mattered. I can’t help but fall for him, completely unknowing that he knows exactly how I got this way. Not knowing he was involved.
***
Heven has no idea how closely death stalks her. She has no idea what I have done to keep her alive. I fear the day she learns my secrets, finds out what I really am. But even then I cannot stop, I vow to make things right. Finally her hunter will be hunted, Heaven and Hell, faith and sin will battle, and we will be victorious. But first, Heven must learn to be what she never imagined. I know her strength is there – I feel it. If we are to overcome all odds, she must push past her flaws – her frailties – to become much more.
Message from Cambria:
It’s here, it’s here, it’s here!! My box of zebra print underwear came in the mail today!! Okay, I didn’t get underwear, I don’t think I have ever gotten that excited about underwear. But it is a special day, a day I have been waiting for forever it seems!
Release day!!!
Today, my second novel in the Heven and Hell Series has been released! Charade is now available for order or download!!
In addition to release day the Heven and Hell Tour: Charade is underway and we are having a great time! But because today is release day we thought we would do something super special for today’s tour post.
There is a giveaway… details will be at the end of this post. There is also a video. Yup, a video. That means you can sit back and watch and probably laugh.
So what is this video about? It’s about me, the author of this book that is covered in sparkly awesome. (Did you think I would say anything else??) I was thinking one day (yes, a dangerous thing) that a reader doesn’t really get to know a writer through a book. Why? Because when I am writing I am telling someone else’s story. I am writing what the characters tell me about themselves, what they want everyone to know. So while the books I write are mine they aren’t necessarily me. Do you follow my thinking here or have I lost you? Lol.
Yes, I have done interviews and yes I write about a bazillion (it’s a number!) guest posts and it does certainly give everyone a chance to get to know me but I think the best way to know someone better is to see them… to spy on them… so that is what inspired this video.
“In da house” is a video that is inspired by humor but also as a way for people to get an inside glance at the places that I write and the home that I spend my days at.
So, please help me celebrate the official Release Day of Charade with this video.
Now that you have watched the video, I hope that you haven’t found me to be crazy and you still want to read Charade. I will go out on a limb and say that I have heard rumblings from a few early reviews that Charade is better that Masquerade (the first book in the series) *excuse me while I pat myself on the back* but I say read it and decide for yourself.
Here’s a little info about Charade in case you aren’t familiar with the book:

If you cannot breathe, I will breathe for you.
If your heart will not beat, mine will beat harder.
If you do not live, neither will I.
Synopsis:
Dying at the hands of a psycho was a shock. Having my life returned to me by an angel was incredible. Being named a Supernatural Treasure and being given Sam as my guard was pretty darn awesome. Acquiring a debt for it all—well, I should have seen it coming.
Now here we are, fighting demons from Hell, caring for a boy that I just don’t trust, and traveling to faraway places to return a treasure to its rightful place. Nothing is as it seems. Everyone wears a mask; everyone puts on a charade. It’s up to us to separate the truth from the lies and reality from fiction. A hard task when my new reality involves fallen angels, witches and dragons… and did I mention Hell?
Anchoring me down through it all is Sam. Sam, who must face tragedies of his own and is put to the test again and again.
If we fail in our task, life as we know it—life as you know it—will end. Forever.

What a great post. I loved getting to know Cambria a little more, too!

I read and write, pretty much, at the kitchen table. Now with the kids out of the house, I don’t have to worry so much about the clutter I may leave. It can just be pushed aside.
I have a big comfy chair in my living room that looks out onto my front yard. My chair, some cold Dr. Pepper and a good book is my idea of heaven. Thanks for this post and giveaway!

Gee, I can read anywhere. My favorite though is my living room chair with my dog curled up at my feet.
I love the video! And I am completely jealous of your kitchen
When I read (or blog) I like to sit right at the couch, or the kitchen table if its clear…the only trouble is that if I am too comfortable I fall asleep!

Oh and i love to read on my bed where i can stretch out
I love to lay in bed and read when everyone else is a sleep. It’s so quiet & the only thing who will pester me is one of the cats. They have to lay on my lap because that way they get attention. Thanks for the chance to win.
The ONLY thing better than zebra striped underwear is the release of Charade! I love the video. This is such an awesome tour. My daughter, Katie, is jealous of the own mug. - FABR Steph
